Songwriter Series // Gordon Thorne
Every Monday and Wednesday night Papa Charlie’s transforms into a listening room showcasing the Midwest’s most talented songwriters in a theater-like setting. The intimate room coupled with its impeccable sound allows the audience to immerse into the stories and craft of the song. Whether you’re in Lutsen skiing for an extended weekend or a local inhabitant, these free intimate acoustic performances are a must every Monday and Wednesday during the ski season.
Gordon Thorne picked up a guitar 30 years ago and hasn’t put it down since. He spent years mining early American blues & jazz, blending them with his own style, and serves up what he calls “modern sounds of yesterday – today”. Known as the meanest fingerpicker in Northern Minnesota where he spends his time working, raising kids and playing a little guitar. In Gordon’s words, he describes himself as playing: “Early American music from a time when giant Bluesmen roamed the earth.”
Please Note: In an effort to create the listening room environment, we ask all guests in the main room to limit conversation during the performance. Guests looking for casual dining and conversation may be seated in the adjoining Mountain View Grill.
