Songwriter Series // Mad Ripple Hootenanny
Every Monday and Wednesday night Papa Charlie’s transforms into a listening room showcasing the Midwest’s most talented songwriters in a theater-like setting. The intimate room coupled with its impeccable sound allows the audience to immerse into the stories and craft of the song. Whether you’re in Lutsen skiing for an extended weekend or a local inhabitant, these free intimate acoustic performances are a must every Monday and Wednesday during the ski season.
Mad Ripple Hootenanny
The Mad Ripple Hootenanny is a round-robin style songwriter collective hosted by writer/journalist/columnist/songwriter Jim Walsh (Hoot host, singer, songwriter; columnist, Southwest Journal; journalist, MinnPost; and author) that celebrates over 10 years of "song, stories, shenanigans, spontaneity, and community". While the single mainstay of the Hoot is Walsh, each night is unique as the songwriter line-ups change from week to week, creating a one-night-only chemistry set of conviviality - for both performers and audience.
Please Note: In an effort to create the listening room environment, we ask all guests in the main room to limit conversation during the performance. Guests looking for casual dining and conversation may be seated in the adjoining Mountain View Grill.
