Position Overview

The Rental Shop Technician supports guests at Lutsen Mountains by efficiently processing ski and snowboard rentals, maintaining accurate records, and keeping the rental shop and surrounding areas clean and organized. This role also assists with basic equipment maintenance and outdoor upkeep, providing friendly service while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Accommodates guests of Lutsen Mountains by performing the following duties:
• Processing rental equipment orders for ski guests in a friendly and efficient manner. 
• Maintains accurate and complete record keeping of all rental transactions performed. 
• Maintains clean, organized shop facilities at all times.
• Performs maintenance and condition of both rental skis and guest skis as directed.
• Helps to maintain the courtyard areas in front of the rental shop, ticket office, and Charlie’s Alpine Bistro including; shoveling, snow blowing, garbage pickup and other items instructed by management.
• Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

• No prior experience or training needed 

• Must be able to provide consistently friendly and efficient service to our guests 

• Must know and support Lutsen Mountains mission and guiding principles 

• Must have a willingness to develop professional level knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment and their use 

• Must be dependable and able to work as a team 

• Must use time efficiently; Works quickly 

• Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events 

• Follows instructions, responds to management direction 

• Ability to problem-solve according to guest demands and company policies.  

• Balances team and individual responsibilities 

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form 

• Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when  absent
