Mountain Report - June 25th, 2026
UPDATE: Due to incoming thunderstorms, both the gondola and slide will be closing early (4 PM).
Good morning from Lutsen Mountains!
We are off to a nicer start to the day with sunny skies and a light breeze, but we will monitor the weather closely throughout the day. Rain causes closures of the Alpine Slide, and thunderstorms (with lightning within 10 miles) cause closures of both activities (slide and gondola).
NOAA Weather Report: A chance of rain before 1 pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1 pm and 3 pm, then a chance of rain after 3 pm. Sunny, with a high near 66. Calm wind. The chance of precipitation is 20%.
Gondola Scenic Rides (10:00 AM- 5:00 PM): Come out and take a ride on the only Gondola in the Midwest! Enjoy some food and drinks at the Summit Chalet while taking in those beautiful views of Lake Superior!
Alpine Slide (11:00 AM-5:00 PM): The Alpine Slide will be open today. Enjoy a ride up the Bridge Lift and a cruise down the turns and dips of the track. Closures due to rain are likely throughout the day.
Summit Chalet: Bar 10:00 am-4:30 pm & Kitchen 11 am-4 pm
Hours for Charlie's: Open for Dinner only, 3 pm - 9 pm
