Mountain Report - August 4th, 2026

NOAA Weather Report: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 74. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Gondola Scenic Rides (10:00 AM-5:00 PM): Come experience the only Gondola in the Midwest! Enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Superior, then stop by the Summit Chalet for food, drinks, and one of the best overlooks on the North Shore. In the case of thunderstorms, lightning strikes within 10 miles of the resort property will lead to a weather hold on the Gondola. 

Alpine Slide (11:00 AM-5:00 PM): Take a ride up the Bridge Lift and enjoy an exciting trip down the twists, turns, and dips of the track. After overnight rains, some drying will be required before opening to public, but we should still be able to have an on-time opening.

Summit Chalet (Accessed via the Gondola): Bar 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM & Kitchen 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM 

Charlie's Alpine Bistro (3:00 PM-10:00 PM): Charlie's will be open from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Live music with Pat Eliasen from 7:30-10:00 PM. Come enjoy a nice meal with your loved ones!

Pre-purchase Tickets Online: To make the most of your visit, we recommend purchasing your tickets online before you arrive. Once your purchase is complete, scan the barcode from your confirmation email at one of the automated pickup kiosks located to the right of the ticket windows or next to the Alpine Slide loading area. Your RFID cards will print instantly, so you can skip the ticket line and get straight to the fun.
