Common Questions About a Visit to Lutsen

Is my lift ticket good for all four mountains?

Yes, Lutsen Mountains lift tickets are valid for all four mountains. 

Do I need a gondola ticket if I have a lift ticket?

No, Lutsen Mountains lift tickets include access to the Summit Express Gondola. 

How do I get my rental equipment?

Upon arrival, you will redeem your online order at the Lutsen Mountains Ticket Office. After you have redeemed your order & picked up your rental vouchers head next door to our rental shop where you will fill out your rental paperwork and collect gear. PRO TIP: Lockers are available in our rental shop and the lower level of the Scandinavian Chalet. 

When can I get my rentals?

The rental shop opens at 8:30am Monday-Friday, and 8:00am on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holiday periods. If taking a lesson plan to be onsite 60-90 minutes prior to your scheduled lesson time. Rentals are available for pick-up the day prior to use between the hours of 1:00pm-3:00pm.

Do I keep my rentals overnight?

Yes, all rental equipment should be kept for the duration of your visit and should not be returned prior.

Where do I park?

Parking is available at the gondola base area, along the ski hill road, and in our overflow parking lot. On weekends and peak dates, all guests should anticipate parking in our overflow parking lot which is located across from Caribou Highlands Lodge. Parking attendants will direct traffic and a ski hill shuttle will be available to bring guests and their gear to our gondola base area. 

Should I take a lesson?

Lessons are suggested for all guests who are looking to gain in ability and/or comfort on their equipment. Private lessons are offered daily with group lessons available on Saturdays and Holiday periods.

We Are Now Cashless

Beginning summer 2023, Midwest Family Ski Resorts Properties will no longer accept cash as a form of payment. Cash may still be used as a form of gratuity, and non-MFSR-owned vendors may still accept cash.

For guests who do not have non-cash forms of payment when they arrive at Lutsen Mountains, reverse ATMs that dispense Mastercard gift cards are available in our Scandinavian Chalet and Summit Chalet.
