Seat Overview
The Mountain Attractions Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the gondola, alpine slide, and related lift systems during summer operations. This role combines safety-critical system operation with high-touch guest interaction, ensuring guests receive clear instruction, smooth access, and a fun, well-managed experience across all attractions. Operators work outdoors in varying conditions and play a key role in both safety execution and overall guest satisfaction.
Seat Purpose
Deliver safe, efficient, and engaging operation of gondola and mountain attractions by ensuring proper guest instruction, system operation, and a positive experience across all summer activities.
Core Accountabilities
- Safety & Compliance: Operate all attractions in accordance with safety standards, procedures, and inspections while actively monitoring conditions and responding immediately to hazards or unsafe behavior.
- Attraction Operations & Readiness: Ensure all attractions are prepared, maintained, and operating smoothly throughout the day, including lifts, tracks, loading areas, and access points.
- Guest Instruction & Control: Provide clear, proactive instruction to guests to ensure safe participation and proper use of all attractions.
- Guest Experience: Deliver friendly, engaging, and professional service that enhances the overall summer experience.
- Communication & Coordination: Maintain clear communication with supervisors and team members to support safe, efficient operations and timely issue resolution.

Qualifications & Competencies
Required
- Ability to follow procedures and remain attentive in a safety-critical environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact positively with guests
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks (lifting, pushing, shoveling as needed)
- Willingness to complete and apply operational and safety training
Preferred
- Prior experience in guest service, recreation, or lift operations
- Familiarity with ski resort or outdoor recreation environments
- Experience working in a team-oriented, fast-paced setting
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions, including heat, sun exposure, wind, rain, and changing mountain conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods (often 6–8+ hours per shift)
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 lbs as needed
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks (e.g., assisting guests, managing equipment, light maintenance)
- Ability to safely navigate uneven terrain, slopes, and loading/unloading areas
- Ability to maintain focus and situational awareness in a safety-sensitive environment with continuous guest interaction
