Mountain Report - July 20th, 2026
Today the North Shore dries off after a good soaking this morning from a welcome rain storm, and we look forward to a lovely Monday of play on the Mountain! There is a chance of thunder and lightening after 1 pm today which could impact service on the Scenic Gondola and Alpine Slide this afternoon, but no news is good news: Watch this Mountain Report for updates.
NOAA Weather Report: Chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Some of the storms could be severe. Patchy smoke before 4pm, then patchy smoke after 5pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Breezy, with a west wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Gondola Scenic Rides (10:00 AM- 5:00 PM): Come experience the only Gondola in the Midwest! Enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Superior, then stop by the Summit Chalet for food, drinks, and one of the best overlooks on the North Shore.
Alpine Slide (11:00 AM-5:00 PM): So long as the track is dry in time for opening, we anticipate we'll be operating the Alpine Slide beginning at 11 a.m.! Take a ride up the Bridge Lift and enjoy an exciting trip down the twists, turns, and dips of the track.
Summit Chalet: Bar 10:00 am - 4:30 pm & Kitchen 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Charlie's Alpine Bistro: 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm, live music with Gordon Thorne from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm
Pre-purchase Tickets Online: To make the most of your visit, we recommend purchasing your tickets online before you arrive. Once your purchase is complete, simply scan the barcode from your confirmation email at one of the automated pickup kiosks located to the right of the ticket windows or next to the Alpine Slide loading area. Your RFID cards will print instantly, so you can skip the ticket line and get straight to the fun.
Thank you for visiting Lutsen Mountains. We hope you have an amazing day on the mountain!
