Position Overview
The Night Houseman supports a safe, clean, and guest-ready overnight environment across resort lodging and public spaces. This role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness standards, monitoring and maintaining pool and amenity areas, completing light maintenance tasks, and responding to overnight facility needs to ensure a positive guest experience and operational readiness for the following day.
This position requires reliability, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while maintaining safety and service standards during overnight operations.
Seat Purpose
Maintain overnight cleanliness, safety, and functionality of public areas and pool facilities.
Seat Accountabilities
- Facility Cleanliness: Complete nightly cleaning, sanitization, and restocking of public spaces, locker rooms, restrooms, hallways, and amenity areas to established cleanliness standards.
- Amenity Care: Test, record, and maintain proper chemical balance and cleanliness standards for pools, spas, and saunas while ensuring compliance with safety requirements.
- Maintenance Response: Perform light maintenance tasks and respond to overnight facility issues while escalating major repairs or emergencies to on-call FMX staff.
- Safety & Security: Inspect entrances, stairwells, emergency exits, walkways, and public spaces for hazards, unsafe conditions, or maintenance concerns and take corrective action when appropriate.
- Snow & Grounds Support: Assist with overnight snow removal, salting, exterior cleanup, and walkway safety as assigned to maintain safe guest access.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate nightly logs, pool chemical readings, incident documentation, and maintenance reporting.
- Guest Service: Provide professional, courteous, and discreet assistance to overnight guests while supporting a safe and welcoming environment.

Qualifications & Competencies
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work overnight shifts independently
- Basic maintenance, custodial, or facilities experience preferred
- Ability to safely handle cleaning supplies and pool chemicals

Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and work actively throughout shift
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including snow and cold temperatures
- Exposure to cleaning products, pool chemicals, mechanical equipment, and wet/slippery surfaces
- Ability to work overnight, weekends, holidays, and peak operational periods as required
Work Environment & Schedule Expectations
This role primarily works evening hours from 3pm-11p five days a week (which would include Friday-Saturday) and supports resort operations during evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak operational periods. Schedule flexibility is required based on occupancy levels, weather conditions, operational demands, and seasonal business needs.
