Seat Overview
The Lift Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of all lift systems across the resort. This position is responsible for maintaining, inspecting, and repairing lifts to support daily operations and deliver a seamless guest experience.
Working in all weather conditions and at height, Lift Technicians support both preventative maintenance and real-time operational response. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to safety, and the ability to work as part of a coordinated mountain operations team.
Seat Purpose
Maintain and repair lift systems to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operation across all conditions.
Key Accountabilities
- Preventative Maintenance: Complete inspections and maintenance tasks on schedule to ensure lift systems remain safe and operational.
- Operational Reliability: Troubleshoot and repair lift issues quickly and effectively to minimize downtime and guest impact.
- Technical Execution: Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs in accordance with manufacturer standards and best practices.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all ANSI B77, PPE, fall protection, and lockout/tagout requirements with full adherence and documentation.
- Emergency Response: Respond to lift stoppages and assist in evacuation procedures to ensure guest and team member safety.
- Operational Support & Coordination: Support Lift Operations and Patrol to maintain safe, efficient daily operations and aligned response during incidents.
- Worksite Standards: Maintain clean, organized, and safe lift houses, terminals, and maintenance areas.
Qualifications
- Required
- Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of tools and equipment
- Ability to work safely at heights and in all weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to follow safety procedures and technical instructions
- Dependable, with strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Preferred
- Experience in lift maintenance, mechanical systems, or similar technical field
- Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, or diesel systems
- Ski resort or mountain operations experience
- Familiarity with ANSI B77 standards
- Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to work at heights and climb lift towers and structures
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, and work on uneven terrain for extended periods
- Availability for weekends, holidays, and peak operating periods
