Sweetwater Shakedown April 5 - 7, 2012
The environmental conditions that push the North Shore maples into producing the finest maple syrup in the world coincidently are the best conditions for spring corn snow skiing. Our 3-day festival celebrates the sweetwater run (with sweet skiing & sweet music accompaniment).

Charlie Parr
9:00pm – 10:30am
Charlie Parr captures the intense sound of the folk music of America’s frozen north. His raw voice, lightning finger picking and plaintive but wry songs have made him one of the most important contemporary protagonists of the American folk tradition. (Bath International Music Festival)
Charlie’s music cannot be absorbed in one hearing or even several. There’s just too much far-from-simple human reality going on. The songs take their power from their cumulative effect, which comes in the eventual recognition that chunks of coal mined by genius shine like diamonds. (Ramblings).

Along the way, however, they’ve honed their songwriting and playing chops and studied the bluegrass, rock and jazz masters they admire. Above all, Drew and Bill

Absnyth Quintet
Time: 9:00 - 10:30 p.m.
Recently featured as Band of the Month on Gratefulweb.net, Absynth Quintet melds the familiar and the avant-gard with a unique and provocative palette of tone and texture. This is streetcorner swing with a sense of humor, bluegrass with footstomping danceability, intertwined with playful forays into the depths of sophisticated musical experimentation. Think Yonder Mountain String Band meets Phish... with a little bit of firelit gypsy caravan folk thrown in for good measure.
