Unique
Sitting high atop Moose Mountain, Lutsen Mountains’ Summit Chalet is a breathtaking new wedding site, and possibly the most unique location in Minnesota. The bride and groom, and all their guests, board the Midwest’s only gondola which transports them along an enchanting ride to the top of Moose Mountain. Northwoods opulence awaits inside the 5,000 square-foot Summit Chalet with its large open seating area boarded by windows, a stone wood-burning fireplace, and cascading wall waterfall. A large sundeck overlooking Lake Superior adds to the ambiance, and is the perfect place for the couple to pledge their lives to one another.
Awe-Inspiring
The best of the mountains, northwoods, and Lake Superior converge at the Summit Chalet. Panoramic views of endless water, national forest, and the jagged beauty of the North Shore will be the backdrop for your special day. The awe-inspiring surroundings will set the mood for the most extraordinary day of your lives, and the beginning of a wonderful life together.
Celebration
After an outdoor ceremony on the expansive deck overlooking Lake Superior, the Summit Chalet’s warm and festive ambiance welcomes the bride and groom, and all their guests inside for a memorable celebration. Up to 160 guests will be seated comfortably indoors for a sumptuous dinner prepared by our Executive Chef. Choose from gourmet selections that are appropriately suited for an evening of northwoods elegance. The wedding will have exclusive use of the Summit Chalet for the evening *, so cut the cake, pour the champagne, and let the celebration begin!
Stay
Accommodations are available at Eagle Ridge Resort. A group block can be set aside for your group, and your guests will receive a 10% discount off the regular rate. Also, if your party reserves a minimum number of rooms, you receive a discount on the Summit Chalet rental, and the bride and groom receive a complimentary fireplace or Jacuzzi studio. A number of different unit-types are available including studios, and one-, two-, and three-bedroom condos.
Plan
The staff at Lutsen Mountains wants to make planning your event part of the fun! Your wedding coordinator is dedicated to making your wedding day the best day of your life. She will work with you to see that every detail is attended to, and help make the entire process as stress-free as possible. You will be the guest of honor on the day of your event, and the Summit Chalet staff will exceed your expectations by providing you and your guests with excellent and thoughtful service.
*The Summit Chalet is open to the public until 5 or 6pm (depending on time of year), but parties have their own private space during operating hours. Evening events typically run from 4 – 11pm with parties having exclusive use of the Summit Chalet after public closing.
